You can save your family from uncertainty with an Advance Health Care Directive. This document outlines your preferences should you become too ill or incapacitated to express them on your own.

Many clients facing terminal illness complete Advance Health Care Directives in our office. Even if you are healthy and not facing imminent incapacitation, it is a good idea to complete them anyway in case an accident renders you unable to communicate.

Advance Health Care Directives and estate planning in general is not limited to wealthy people. Everyone needs to plan for the future and that includes the disposition of assets after death. Single people who are estranged from their family need to be especially thorough, especially if they prefer their estate transfers to a charitable cause instead of relatives.
